Upcoming BCLA CE session - Training Delivery Skills Sept 10 & 11

Description:
In this highly interactive 2-day workshop, participants will increase their understanding of how to help adults learn more effectively. Participants will also have two opportunities to practice instructional delivery in a supportive, coaching environment.

Throughout the 2 days, participants are encouraged to add to their knowledge base, ask questions, solve problems, try out new ideas, disagree, share experiences, practice skills, and give and receive feedback. Emphasis is on building a collegial atmosphere in which participants can both increase their understanding of how to help adults learn and practice instructional delivery.

About the Presenter:
Reva Kalef (www.kalefconsulting.com) has been involved in the field of adult education as an instructor, instructional designer and consultant since 1984. She works with post-secondary institutions, business & industry, government agencies and non-profit organizations. Reva specializes in assisting instructors and instructional designers in their ongoing professional development.

Please note, Reva will to contacting the participants for a brief telephone interview about 10 days prior to the workshop.

Class Size: 10 max.

Cost:
$475 members (all participants must be BCLA members)
An administration fee of $25 will apply to any cancellations.

Due to the popularity of this session, participants will be chosen by lottery, with one person per institution attending. Individual members are also encouraged to apply if they are paying for the workshop themselves. If you or your library is interested in attending, please send an email to the BCLA at cont.ed.bcla@gmail.com with one of the following subject lines:

Email applications must be received by 12 noon, Friday August 10. Successful libraries/individuals will be contacted on Monday August 13th and will have until 12 noon, Thursday August 16 to finalize payment.

When sending the email, libraries do not need to supply the name of the participant at that time. The name of the participant (with contact information) will be needed at time of registration.

This workshop will be also offered in Victoria in Feb 08. More information about that session will be announced later in the fall.
